Most users are familiar with the use of standard 1 cm cuvettes for sample analysis. The 400 Series UV/Vis spectrophotometers extend their capabilities to the use of dip probes for facilitating analysis while lending themselves to real-time monitoring of kinetic reactions.


The Universal Optics Bench allows use with multiple sample shapes and sizes. The plastic sample holder insert can be replaced with a variety of sample stages including bottles, films, filters, glasses, etc.

400 Series UV/Vis Spectrophotometers

The 400 Series optics bench is an extremely versatile accessory compatible with all 400 Series Spectrophotometers. While the optics bench functions just like a traditional cuvette holder, the incorporation of fiber optics and CCD array detection eliminate the need for the cuvette holder assembly to be placed within a darkened compartment that is customary with most traditional UV-Vis spectrophotometers. This makes for easy clean-up in the event of spills and added versatility for large or difficult samples.

While the flexible fiber optic transmission cables are an integral part of the optics bench, the key component is the actual cuvette holder. It is threaded at a 90 degree angle to the input fiber and therefore enables use for fluorescence measurements as well. In addition, the cuvette holder can be removed and replaced with a variety of mounts capable of holding just about any sample type you can imagine such as filters, sunglasses, large windows, etc.
